Encaustic Art Demonstration and Lecture

The Ann Street Gallery is pleased to present a lecture and demonstration on the ancient medium of encaustic art on Thursday, March 18 at 2:00 pm. The event will be held in conjunction with Fahrenheit 180: A Group Encaustic Exhibition, which is currently on view in the gallery through April 10.
Due to the extreme weather conditions and power outages that interrupted the previously scheduled opening on February 27, the Artist Reception/Closing Party has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 10 from 6-9 pm. Cynthia Winika from R&F Paints in Kingston, NY will discuss a brief history of encaustic art and its origins, as well as demonstrate the various uses and methodologies of encaustic paints. The lecture is free and open to the public.
