Facelift at Washington HQ’s

Washington’s Headquarters Museum Building, which turns 100 this year, got a new HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) system installed. It is not geothermal, but natural gas, instead of the previous oil-based system. There is no grant for this. New York State is making this huge investment in the site, a major indication of its viability and importance. This is especially true since Washington’s Headquarters was one of the New York State parks that could have been shut down due to budget problems. With these new updates it seems that this will not be the case for the Headquarters. Thanks Elyse and Michael for the information!

  • So relieved this park was spared the budget cuts! For those of us in the Foundry, the HQ grounds are like our backyard…

  • Glad it has been kept. they are getting rid of so much history in all states. it is the fault of the people in office make too much and get too much when they retire from office.
