About Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh: Habitat Newburgh builds safe, decent, and affordable homes in partnership with working families in need. Reaching across religious, cultural, and racial boundaries, we seek to restore a sense of community with the common goal of strong neighborhoods and dignity through home ownership. Since 1999, Habitat Newburgh volunteers have built 43 houses that 225 children and adults now call home, and added over $8.3 million to assessed property values. Each completed project is not just a house; it is a hand up from the deplorable conditions of poverty housing, a home where families can thrive and give their children hope for generations to come. Thanks to our extraordinary volunteers and supporters, we are changing the face of this city – brick by brick, family by family, and neighborhood by neighborhood.
