Rescue Me

This set of row homes on South Street between Lander and Chambers Streets are some of the cutest around. They almost look like little doll houses, perfect for a new family. Unfortunately the abandoned homes on this block also make it unsightly. For some reason though, it is easy to imagine the potential these homes posses as did Bryan Guglielmi, who painted these homes in a restored vision of what South Street might look like some day.

Newburgh is New York State’s second largest historic district after NYC. Newburgh literally has hundreds of dilapidated and abandoned buildings just begging for someone to come scoop them up and restore them. I’ll continue to post my own photos, but if you have a particular building you would like to see saved, email me the photo of any building you appreciate that you would like to see rescued!
