The Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra, directed and conducted by Woomyung Choe, presents “Tonight We Love” on Saturday, May 14, 2011, 8:00 p.m. at Aquinas Hall, Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh. Acclaimed Armenian-American pianist Kariné Poghosyan, said to have that special spark, will perform Tchaikovsky’s extraordinarily popular Concerto for Piano No. 1 in B-flat minor. The other enduringly popular crowd-pleaser to be performed is Bruckner’s magnificent Symphony No. 4 in E-flat major, “Romantic.”
The Shacklett Preview at 7:00 p.m. is a pre-concert introduction to the evening’s music by Gordon Shacklett. Ticket prices are $25 for reserved seating, $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors, $10 for students, and children under 7 are admitted free of charge.
