Art Event: Paint in Newburgh

The Newburgh Campus of SUNY Orange in conjunction with the International Plein Air Painters (IPAP) will be celebrating the 9th Annual Worldwide Paint Out on Saturday, September 10, 2011 from 9am – 1pm.

The area’s local plein air painters are invited to come and set up their easels on the Kaplan Green of the Newburgh campus . The public is invited to join in the fun by watching the individual artists work.  A drum circle will take place at noon and the artists will be able to display their day’s work while they picnic on the Kaplan Green.

Artists may set up as early as 8am the day of the event. In case of rain, the event will be moved to Sunday, September 11. This event is free and open to the public.

Plein air artists seek the quality of natural light and atmosphere outdoors. Their art work is in direct response to the beauty they find in nature. They use a variety of media, from oils through watercolors and pastels.
