Before and After: 65 Courtney

This home at 65 Courtney is a special renovation by Habitat for Humanity because it is the 50th completed house in Newburgh. It was dedicated to the Knight Family on November 20, 2011 in honor of Diedre Glenn, Habitats first executive director. To date over 300 children and adults have been accepted in to Habitat Newburgh’s homebuyer program and the 50 completed houses have returned nearly $9 million to the City of Newburgh’s assessed property values.

Habitat has 8 sites under construction, and another 30 sites secured for the future. The East Parmenter Neighborhood when complete will be home to nearly 100 residents. A stark difference from it’s gloomy past. This home at 65 Courtney was a burned out mess with collapsing walls and ceilings. To fully appreciate the wonderful job Habitat has done, check out their fan page for more photos.
