Stand Up! Clean Up! Poster Winner Celebration

The Clean and Beautify Community Action Team, headed by Ramona Monteverde, and one of the active teams created by Mayor Judy Kennedy’s community action initiative, is celebrating the First Annual Newburgh School District “Stand Up-Clean Up” poster contest.

This poster contest, the first of its kind, was created to help educate and involve elementary school students in Newburgh in keeping their hometown clean, and presenting ways in which to get the word out to the community. For this first effort, 59 posters were submitted, and two winners and an honorable mention were selected. All submissions can be seen this week in the window of the Safe Harbors/Cornerstone at 117 Broadway.

The winners will receive prizes including a garden basket, an i-pod, and a gift certificate, and ALL participants will be announced by Mayor Kennedy and presented with a beautiful certificate acknowledging their participation and involvement in making Newbugh a cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful place!

The ceremony to announce the winners and present all students with certificates by the Mayor Kennedy, is scheduled for SATURDAY JUNE 16 at 10am, at the Ritz Theater at 111 Broadway in Newburgh. Refreshments will be served.
