2012-13 Tom Humphrey Guitar Series at the Ritz

The Ritz Theater has brought back the Tom Humphrey Guitar Series for 2012-13. The first show will be Saturday, September 29th. Tickets will be available for $25 each, via the website or the Ritz Theater Box Office at (845) 784-1199. Seating is limited, purchase tickets to all five shows by September 24 and receive reserved seating in the first four rows.

Saturday, September 29 at 8 PM, Rory Block. Rory Block has become one of the world’s most important preservers of the roots of American blues music and an uncompromisingly mature artist. Her playing and her singing are always otherworldly as she wrestles with ghosts, shadows and legends.

Saturday, October 20 at 8 PM, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott. One of the last true links to the great folk traditions of this country, with over 40 albums under his belt, Elliott is considered a living legend. From Bob Dylan to Bonnie Raitt to Bruce Springsteen, they all pay homage to Ramblin’ Jack.

Saturday, November 17 at 8 PM, Nat Adderley Jr. A much in demand arranger and pianist, Nat Adderley Jr.’s work with Luther Vandross earned him a Grammy nomination. He is also the scion of a famed jazz family, his father Nat, a composer and trumpet player, while his uncle Cannonball was an alto saxophonist.

Saturday, March 9 at 8 PM, Frank Vignola, Vinny Raniolo and Bucky Pizzarelli. The Ritz is thrilled to welcome back the great Frank Vignola and the legendary Bucky Pizzarelli. They will be joined by rising star Vinny Raniolo, rounding out a concert featuring three generations of virtuoso jazz guitarists.

Saturday, April 6 at 8 PM, Peppino D’Agostino. D’Agostino has been hailed as “a guitarist’s guitarist” by Acoustic Guitar magazine, and holds many top guitar awards, but the San Francisco Chronicle encapsulated the essential difference that distinguishes his music when it dubbed him “a poet.”

The concerts will be held in the Ritz Theater Lobby at 107 Broadway in Newburgh.
