On Friday, January 25, 2013 from 5pm – 7pm there will be a wine and cheese opening reception in the CenterArts Gallery at Kaplan Hall on the Newburgh Campus of SUNY Orange.

This exhibit offers the work of nine artists who were trained in the US or China, and live and work in New York or Beijing. Their works, done in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, photography, paper cutting and video, address the identity of women and their role in society. More than that, the image of women appears as a symbol of the problems, challenges and beauty of contemporary society.

The exhibit will be featuring renowned Chinese and Chinese-American contemporary women artists Gao Yuan, Cui Xiuwen, Cai Jin, Hu Bing, Mimi Kim, Xin Song, Nina Kuo, Feng Jiali, Hui Zhu.

The exhibit will be on view through Friday, March 29, 2013. Gallery hours are Monday – Thursday: 9am – 3pm and Friday: 9am – 1pm.
This event is free and open to the public. Free, secure parking is available in the Kaplan Hall  underground parking garage accessible via First Street.
