Newburgh Sidewalk Replacement Program

Sidewalk1

The City of Newburgh is initiating a sidewalk replacement program for 2013. It will be available to all City residential and commercial property owners. The City will pay 50% of the sidewalk replacement, up to $1,500 which will apply to all property owners regardless of income.

While the application only mentions concrete sidewalks, the original stone sidewalks of Newburgh have been there for decades if not more than a century, and are critical to neighborhood aesthetic. It would be a shame to see the stone sidewalks removed for concrete. Does anyone have any idea if stone sidewalk replacement would be included also?

All sidewalk replacement work is to be completed by no later than October 1, 2013, and all bills submitted for payment by no later than November 1, 2013.
