Newburgh Rowing has announced that it will once again be running a Summer Camp through the Town of Newburgh Recreation Department.  Said Newburgh Rowing Programs Director Coach Ed Kennedy, “The champion NFA Varsity Crew Team and the competitive rowers from Newburgh Rowing come down and volunteer as camp counselors, and we have certified Level 1 rowing coaches and phys ed teachers teaching the program. The kids kayak, canoe and even get in a crew shell and row. We have food, arts and crafts, movies on rainy days, ecological projects and fitness.  We filled up last year, so sign up now.  We also have scholarships available to those who qualify financially and reside in the City of Newburgh.”  Here is the info:

Summer Rowing Camp Ages 9 – 17 years old
No rowing experience needed. Must have basic ability to swim and tread water.
Campers will learn to row gig boats, kayaks and crew shells. The camp will emphasize camper’s individual needs, whether learning to row or expanding their rowing skills. Additional activities will include ecological and marine sciences, arts and crafts, movies, leadership and team building games.

SESSION I: July 8th – July 12th
SESSION II: July 15th – July 19th
SESSION III: July 22nd – July 26th
SESSION IV: July 29th-August 2nd

Time: 9am to 3pm
Place: The Newburgh Rowing Family Boathouse The Ward Brothers Memorial Park 2 River Rd, Newburgh NY
Fee: $160 Per Session
