William Street has been seeing some small improvements. Recently the sidewalk in front of a stretch of empty space has been replaced. And for you bluestone purists out there, no this sidewalk wasn’t anything but crumbling concrete before. Hopefully, this will be the first of other improvements to come.
So sad for Newburgh tonight and the two lives that were lost during today’s tornado. Most have no electricity and no cell phone service in the city. This is just some of the damage on Liberty Street where the roofs came off two buildings. The city is in a state of emergency.
Dutch artist, Paulien Lethen, is opening the Holland Tunnel Art Gallery in Newburgh on May 25 (5-10pm) and May 26 (1-6pm) in a renovated 1860’s warehouse at 46 Chambers Street. The gallery will feature opening exhibition work by local and international artists and live jazz by Dutch pianist/vocalist Heleen Schuttevaer, Lethen’s sister, and other musicians. […]
