Remember the Newburgh Jazz Series that has been absent from the City of Newburgh for the past 2 summers. Well it has come back with a new name for a few concerts for the month of September as the Newburgh Jazz-Go-Round.

Press Release:

The Newburgh Jazz-Go-Round will be a four show series in various venues in the City of Newburgh.  They are open to the public and free of charge.  Concerts will be held every Thursday in September, 6:30pm to 8:30pm.  Below are the following locations;

  • Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013   Xavier Lunan Park
  • Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013  Colonial Terraces Park (off Wilson Street)
  • Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 Larkin Park, Dubois Street
  • Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013  Park in front of 123 Grand Street

The Newburgh Jazz-Go-Round is a unique opportunity to preserve, present and promulgate the “All American Music–Jazz” in the once “All American City”.  This event will help pass on our country’s musical heritage to the younger generation.  The Newburgh Jazz Go-Round will go into non-traditional venues of neighborhood streets, parks, and playgrounds.  These concerts will also attract diverse and integrated audiences.

  • After being asked to leave the city of Newburgh waterfront by the restaurants owners I must say it is now my pleasure to return with world class concerts to the city limits. I am looking forward to establishing a new Ferry Godmother project and a new tradition called the Newburgh Jazz-Go-Round. For 2014 schedules in Newburgh and Montgomery, http://www.FerryGodmother.com.
