  • Interesting article on the Fashion Manufacturing Initiative trying to bring factories back to NYC. As I’ve said before on several occasions, a collapsing USD, american work force and cheaper energy due to fracking for nat gas etc will cause manufacturers to consider coming back.

    I hope the newly formed Newburgh committee to attract businesses pays attention and follows suit. Newburgh’s proximity to the Hudson, Stewart airport, and 2 major highways is ideal for factories. Picture those large, empty, run down buildings being restored and filled with folks working at factories who buy/rent homes in the area and pay taxes there.
