Real Estate: 82 William Street $45,000

82 William St Newburgh NY

William Street is a pretty scary place in Newburgh, but stay tuned. There are going to be a couple of before and after posts coming up of revitalization efforts on this block. If you are willing to be an urban pioneer this property is cheap and it is not a short sale. There are no interior photos so that can be scary but your mortgage would be under $700. Liberty Street and Broadway are no brainers, but William Street will take more innovation. There are Latin markets and businesses moving in to the area, which is certainly just what a block with a high concentration of abandoned buildings needs…and of course, you!

  • William St. is perhaps the worst in the City of Newburgh. It is going to need a lot more than cosmetics. It is third world with the street itself an obstacle course. Forgotten by the city, controlled by thugs and gangs, not a single building on the entire street that is not ugly, blighted and in a semi ruined state. It was at one time a thriving business and shopping street. But….hope springs eternal.

  • I lived on the top floor of this building from 1958- 1963. At that time, access to the bathroom was in the hall which I thought was rather strange. Twenty years later, I delivered furniture to this apt. and noticed that had been corrected.

  • I agree perhaps the most dangerous block in the Burgh! Watch out seriously BUT SO MUCH POTENTIAL, and all needed is a few urban pioneers on this block to slowly see change!
