There’s a new studio in the area. This one is at the southern end of the City of Newburgh, dubbed “The Loft”. It is a creative suite, a natural conglomerate of photography and graphic design between good friends. It sits a stone-throws away from the Newburgh line between a cemetery and a headstone shop at 61 Quassaick Ave.
Alejandro Perez tells the story best:
A few months ago I decided to scour for a studio space to work from in the Newburgh area. Being that I reside in New Windsor, it being at a arms reach would be essential. With your help I looked at the Yellowbird building, awesome views and location… but to no avail. Then by the time I stumbled upon your post (about the loft space on Broadway) and reached out to the landlord, the space was already occupied. Looked at a handful of others but the cons outweighed the pros. A few weeks ago some good friends of mine put me onto this available space in the Newburgh/New Windsor border right off 9W. 18ft high ceilings very open main floor with a loft area as well as a separate room for hair and makeup had me sold.
Some great potential for the space…it possibly being a photo studio to rent out to local artists and or play host to a gallery in the future is in the air, but for now it will be just a personal studio.
We are super excited that you found your dream space Alejandro! Below are photos of phase 1 and 2 of the renovations. Interesting spaces like these are all over the City of Newburgh!
“The Loft 61 Quassaick Ave Suite 400”
I’d love to have my own studio one day. With all of the revitalization going on Newburgh is the perfect place for this.
Keep searching. I’m sure you could find a carriage house or some other small space to start off with!
