Real Estate: 267 Liberty St $189,000

267 Liberty St Newburgh NY

One of our before and after homes is for sale at 267 Liberty Street. If you remember what this home looked like before it was a complete shell. Now it has been completed renovated and could be yours. This might be a nicer option for those of you who love the historic look of a home but want a more modern interior. There is also an income apartment. It is very reminiscent of houses in other urban areas don’t you think?

This section of Liberty Street still has a ways to go, but it is still the lifeline of revitalization in Newburgh. This home is located directly across the street from the homes featured in the Newburgh New York Times article.

  • A shout-out to Chris Hanson and all other Newburgh realtors: Thanks for now including the annual real estate taxes in your listings and, to some of you –most particularly to Chris– kudos for posting reasonable photos of a property; to you others who don’t do this–you’re doing a great disservice to the property.
However, to all of you: it would be a great help if, in addition to photos of a listing, you would include a floor plan–probably the most helpful tool to anyone considering buying, or even looking at, a property. All New York City realtors do this as a matter of course. Sure, it might cost the realtor a couple of hundred dollars (there are people who do this for a living ) but it would not only appeal/entice people who are looking for a property, it would establish you, the realtor, as seriously working for the owner and for your commission.

    • It’s still hard to find property taxes. Most times I have to see a few listings before I actually see this information. But yes, its vital information that should be included with all listings, and floor plans wouldn’t hurt either 🙂

  • too bad whoever did this renovation did such a poor job of preserving the historic charm in the interiors. Hire ARCHITECTS people, as well as contractor. It shows in the end result.

    • Actually Nancy, there was no historic charm to begin with. It was a complete shell. The developer actually did a great job because otherwise the building would’ve either collapsed on its own, or it would’ve been torn down.
