Art Opening for the Newburgh “Heights Banners Beautification Project”

unnamed

The Newburgh Heights Association (NHA) cordially invites you to attend the Art Opening for the Newburgh “Heights Banners Beautification Project.”

Artwork for this project was created by the children of the Newburgh Heights neighborhood through a series of workshops funded through a grant provided by the 2013-2014 County of Orange Arts Grants through the office of County Executive Edward A. Diana.

Of the 21 grants awarded, The Newburgh Heights Association was one of 2 recipients receiving the top award of $5000. This project, which was conducted under the guidance of professional art educators, consisted of the creation of original art by the children. Selected pieces will be made into Public Service Announcement (PSA) banners, which will be hung on utility poles in the Heights neighborhood.  The purpose of this project is to educate the community about social topics, such as good health habits, neighborhood safety and neighborhood beautification.

The children involved with this project will be at the opening to help present their artworks.
