The organizers of the Newburgh Open Studios Tour are gearing up early this year! This September will be the 4th year in the making, taking place September 27 and 28th. Truly it has had such a wonderful impact on the City of Newburgh with over 700 guests attending last year. To make the event a success for 2014 they need participants and sponsors. The deadline for artist participants is August 15th. See below for the official press release:
The 4th Annual Newburgh Open Studios Tour has become one of the most anticipated arts events in the Hudson Valley. Dozens of artists who live and/or work in Newburgh invite visitors to take a rare look at their studio spaces- and unique alternative spaces not usually open to the public. As the tour has grown exponentially the first three years, so have its expenses. We attracted over 700 visitors to Newburgh for last year’s tour, visitors who walked our streets and patronized our local businesses. This year we’d like to partner with our business community by asking for nominal sponsorships to help pay for maps and tour related materials. 700 maps will be printed for this year’s tour. By giving to this annual event you will be supporting the artists and acknowledging the importance of the arts in our city’s revival.
