A new business is open on Lower Broadway! Newburgh Mercantile offers the opportunity to enjoy a selection of merchandise that reflects the rich and varied creative community that is found in the Hudson Valley region.

The idea came about when Newburgh native Jacqui Jarmann noticed the ad for a storefront space at 75 Broadway, an old firehouse from the 1860’s. She immediately envisioned a boutique of art, home decor, and gift items; as well as the custom picture frames made by Eric Jarmann, her husband. They figured since there is so much talent in the Newburgh area, the shop could feature locally made items.

The Newburgh Mercantile will have their grand opening on Saturday November 1st, 2014 with special hours of 10 AM to 8 PM. Regular store hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 1 PM to 6 PM, other times by appointment. The phone number is 845-238-7640. The web site is www.newburghmercantile.com.
