This festive event will be held on Sunday, October 18th at the Downing Park Shelter House from 3:00p.m. till 6:00p.m. Attendees are kindly asked to donate $30.00 for support of Downing Park.

The City of Newburgh is proud to be a participant in the ongoing renewal of the park. With the recent hiring of staff, the City looks forward to the upcoming development of community gardens and green houses in the park. So, come and enjoy the magnificent autumn color in the park and help support one of Newburgh’s greatest and most historic institutions.

Newburgh is proud to include among its native sons, Andrew Jackson Downing, who is considered the chief inspiration for the American conservationist movement. He served as mentor to the two greatest conservationists of the late 19th century, Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux, and it was they who named Newburgh’s largest public park after Downing.
