Rescue Me: 70 Clinton Street

Touring the historic homes on Grand and Montgomery, I spotted this home on Clinton Street. It suffered a fire last year and appears to be vacant. Records say it was home to Newburgh’s late former mayor, Mary Crabb. Mary served in place of her husband Tyrone, who was originally elected mayor but died of a heart attack before he could take his oath. Hopefully, the property will be repaired before further damage takes place. For detailed information on the property, check the Orange County tax records.

There are over 700 abandoned or vacant properties in the City of Newburgh. Habitation of these properties is vital to the revitalization of the city. 70 Clinton Street Newburgh NY Google Map
