  • “asked residents to trust government”

Anyone want to raise their hand if they trust the city of newburgh to use its taxes wisely. Don’t we have some of the highest property taxes in NY state and live in the county with one of the highest sales taxes in the state? And we should trust the city government with more? LOL. Call me when the city actually allows and encourages real development in downtown instead of promising x, y and z without really accomplishing very much except more potholes and a lawsuit or two.

  • Clever…vilify rent control as a monetary subsidy when a landlord is on the hook but acclaim it as a moral condition when everyone pays for it.
    – The “tiny house phenomenon”: convincing people that $ devaluation is trendy. Brought to you by the same people pushing for “universal rent control”.
-“…neighborhoods of concentrated poverty” gentrify when property taxes supersede the graft.
-“Bikes as a white people thing”? whodda thunk…
