  • FDR’s and LaGuardia’s “NY NEW Deal” piggybacked on the defunct NRA that basically cobbled small businesses with wage and price controls co-authored by the nations biggest corporations. It was a follow up to previous president Hoover’s ‘Revenue Act’ which FDR kept in place as he needed to fund his ‘New Deal’, even if the taxes were, by and large , regressive to the average citizen. The resulting deficits were neatly merged into that of WWII’s expense. No, espousing a ‘Better Deal’ is not the model that’s going to make “New York remarkable”. ‘Seems the removal of SALT from their diet is making certain people nostalgic.
