“Newburgh Last Saturdays started out with a Fantasy Photobooth to benefit the Hudson Valley SPCA Trap Neuter Release program at Space Create. For a donation you could get a photo taken in costume. Marc Anthony and Cleopatra were seen at 2 Alices Coffee Lounge, which stayed open till 9pm.  There was also a live band and art exhibit going on at the same time in the front lounge of Space Create. Brief Encounters by Corey Pane, all his portraits are painted on cardboard. Next door at Teran Studios was the Vibes art exhibit and happening. It was packed, multiple artists, face and body painting and a giant vibe catcher made out of string! The after party started at 9pm with a DJ and glow in the dark go go dancers, everyone was glowing, black lights were set up all around the entire space. Around the corner at Global Recycling, the art exhibit Raw Reflections, was a collaboration with Marist College and Plant Steel Creative. Photo portraits of various artists incorporating recycled metal & steel, were on display. Just a few doors up the street at The Wherehouse, The Reddan Brothers Band were playing live rock and blues, a great way to end the night with a beer and a bite.”

The next Last Saturday will be April 25, 2015.

“It was another happening night for February’s Newburgh Last Saturdays! SUNY Orange joined in with improvisational theater and art exhibits by local artists, featuring Newburgh’s own, Daniel Giordano.

Over at Teran Studio things were jumping with multi-active exhibit “What’s Love Got To Do With It”, curated by artist, Amanda J Light. Starting at 1pm with an open mic poetry reading leading into Love Letters from Anna West.  Later DJ MissDeezy was spinning records, ending it all up with live music by Das Super Gruppen.

In between all of this you could take a Pilates class, get a chair massage or take swing dance lessons at APG Pilates to limber up for your night out. At The Wherehouse the jazz was cool, with the Eric Person Trio. The beer was flowing and the food was hot, they have a new menu! Over at Newburgh Brewing, Brian Tice and John Bendy were playing live. Caffe Macchiato was open late for hot coffee, treats and conversation. Winding it all down with the after after Red Party to benefit Blissful Strays at 188 Liberte, where Newburghers go to meet new people and dance it out with DJFreaky Frankie. 188 Liberte is still taking donations through the week, Facebook message them to donate.”
