It’s nice to see Newburgh in the New York Times for something positive! Read for yourself, Feels Like Old Brooklyn, Newburgh, N.Y., Seeks Renewal Without Gentrification

“People who’ve never been to the city think there’s bullets flying everywhere, but we’ve never had a single incident of crime or violence in or near the brewery,” said Paul Halayko, the chief operating officer. He and his business partner, Christopher Basso, chose to relocate here from the city for the cost as well as the cause. “We put the name Newburgh in 500 restaurants across the state, and it’s now associated with good beer, not violence,” Mr. Basso said. “We’re helping to re-brand the city.”

It’s so refreshing to see positive press out about Newburgh these days. I submitted the city a few months back for this and I’m excited to announce that Newburgh was chosen amongst a few other neighborhoods as the Best of 2013 of This Old House! It was voted amongst the best neighborhoods for: The Northeast, Bargains, Fixer-Uppers, Victorians, Waterfront, First-Time Buyers, and American Heritage. Click on the article to read what they have to say about the city. Yay for Newburgh! Thanks Johanna Porr for scouring the neighborhood and taking photos.

Cher Circa 2

I am really pleased to share with you all an interview I did with Circa Houses, a beautiful website and online magazine that specializes in historic properties. Of course, with the thousands of historic houses Newburgh has, we fit right in with Circa. They say “Newburgh is the next big thing – we can just feel it!” It’s so great to see positive press about Newburgh, I hope you can feel it too! Check out the article here.

ELLE

Newburgh’s own Atlas Industries has been featured in this months Elle Decor Magazine, page 62! Thomas Wright and Joseph Fratesi are being called a ‘triple threat” for their “art and architecture background, engineering minds, and a reverence for fine craftsmanship.” Even though they have some impressive projects under their belts, the article says that the duo are most excited about their 55,000 sq ft former handbag factory in Newburgh. Atlas Industries was also the location of the River of Opportunities press conference a few weeks back. It’s pretty awesome to see such innovative people bringing creativity and positive press to Newburgh!

A recent article has come out in the Chronogram about the beautiful William Fullerton Mansion and it’s owner, Michael Green. Although Green has yet to spend a night in his mansion, it seems he loves it and really does want to see change in Newburgh. The article is candid and shows Newburgh’s highs and lows. If you are in love with the idea of moving to Newburgh and have many dream homes filed away, take a look at what Newburgh has to offer. It is going to take a lot of work to get the Queen City back to where she was. Rome wasn’t built in a day either. Buying Stock in Newburgh, The Fullerton Mansion.
