Anniversary of the End of Prohibition Party!
December 5, 2014 @ 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
December 5, 2014 is the 81st Anniversary of the End of Prohibition. On December 5, 1933, the 21st Amendment repealed the 18th Amendment of the US Constitution, which mandated the nationwide Prohibition on the sale of alcohol. The 18th Amendment went into effect on January 20, 1920, and the legal sale of alcohol was not permitted for thirteen long years. The North Plank Road Tavern was in existence during this time period, and operated as a speakeasy, continuing to sell alcohol during the Prohibition. We will be celebrating our history again this year at our Annual End of Prohibition Party! For the evening, our staff will be dressed as flappers and gangsters. We encourage our guests to do the same, and will reward you will a complimentary appetizer for getting in the spirit and dressing in period attire. We will be serving Cocktails of the 1920’s & 30’s, with Live Jazz / Blues of the 20’s / 30’s by the Michael Purcell / Chris Sullivan DUO, from 6:30 – 9:30 PM. Hope to see you at the Tavern on Friday. It will be the Bee’s Knees, “the best!”
