Barge Watch, created by me, (Judy Thomas), is an extension of the Barge of The Day photos taken while in my industrial studio space in Newburgh, NY. These posts were cheered on by friends and so I was encouraged to create a FB page and website to highlight the studio, the view, comings and goings from my window and in and around my community, and special events such as Barge Watching. Also showcasing work of distinctive artists in the community, Barge Watch is a dream place in my heart and soul.

It’s quite exciting the artists that are moving into Newburgh and their willingness to share their studio spaces with us! New Newburgh artist and resident, Judy Thomas deservedly calls her work space a “dream studio space with a view.” From that view she watches barges pass by daily. So much so that she started a Facebook fanpage and website called Barge Watch. On Sunday, March 16 from 1-6pmthe public is invited to she her artwork as well as paintings by Anna West. Surely you will also see the many barges Judy gazes at during her day as well.
