Palate Tasting – Hop, Skip and a Jump

January 27, 2017 @ 10:00 pm - 1:00 am

Join us as we explore three distinct wines from across the world: New Zealand, France and California.

As we gear up to focus on women winemakers in the coming weeks, we thought we’d take a nice big tour of the wine world with some of our winter favorites.

While we don’t tend to associate whites with the snow, there are plenty of year-round aficionados. Our first hop is to New Zealand where we’ll sample the Glazebrook Sauvignon Blanc: an excellent choice for for white fish or pasta. Known for it’s tropical notes, this wine is a fine expression of a classic New World Sauv. Blanc.

Skipping up and across to the Old Wolrd, the Hecht & Bannier Minervois is quite simply a fantastic and well balanced wine. A blend of 70% Syrah, 20% Grenanche and 10% Carignan, this wine is one of our top sellers. The notes on this 2013 are unctuous, sensual, intense berry fruit flavors.

And finally, we jump to California, the pioneers of the red Zinfandel. The Renwood Winery is nestled in the “Gold Country” in the North surrounded by hills and rushing streams. This Zinfandel is ultra-soft on the palate and balanced with mouth-watering acidity. Packed with distinct flavors of strawberry preserves, raspberry, this wine is a lovely example of California’s native varietal.

Join as we explore these fun and distinctive wines with some some cheese and crackers.

Starts at 5pm on Friday.

Cheers,

The folks at Palate Wines
