Classic Italian Wines
Friday from 5 to 8pm

This week, we’ll be tasting two great bottles of classic Italian wines for under $20. Known to many as the quintessential wine country, Italy is home to many grapes and wines that are relatively unknown outside the region where they are made.

But those mysteries will be discovered another time!

This week we have the Ernst + Neue Pinot Grigio from the foothills of the Alps in Süd-Tirol. This wine is clean with focused notes of fruit. There is a wonderful warmth that radiates through the wine even as it remains a fresh,
mineral-driven style of Pinot Grigio.

We will follow with a classic Chianti from Tuscany. A favorite for many of you over the holidays, this is a wonderful mid-bodied expression of the famous Sangiovese grape. The notes here are of black cherry, plum and mint aromas with a juicy finish. It’s round, smooth and accessible thanks to soft tannins and fresh acidity.
