You might want to reach out to River Architects. They are familiar with Newburgh, and they do Passive Houses.

Paulina,

If you still need help, we have information on this topic that might be of help to you. We are doing a rehab of two Newburgh townhouses and we are using a number of strategies to get the buildings as close to net zero that technology – and importantly, the Newburgh marketplace – will allow. Our website is down for the moment, so try reaching out at unreceived_dogma@mindspring.com

Hi Paulina,

I am designing the Passive House reconstruction of 102-104 Washington Street- this is currently a brick shell after a series of fires since 1972. This building will use 70% to 90% less energy than the rest of the building stock, and with a modestly sized solar array will be net zero. We just got the go-ahead from the Planning Board, and will be presenting to the ARC this summer!

Cher had introduced us- we are River Architects in Cold Spring- and nearly all of our work is Passive House/net zero.

Cheers, James
