DESCRIPTION:Open Auditions for the Safe Harbors Ritz Kidz “Newburgh’s Got Talent ” Talent Show will be held in the Safe Harbors of the Hudson\, Multipurpose Room\, 111 Broadway in Newburgh Saturday\, October 12 from 12 to 4 p.m. Kids aged 18 or under and enrolled in a school within the City or Town of Newburgh\, are eligible to audition.\nPerformance categories for the talent show include Dance\, Vocal\, Instrumental and Dramatic/Comedic Interpretation. Judges for the auditions and the talent show will base their evaluations on showmanship\, creativity and quality. A maximum of 20 acts will be selected to compete in the show on Sunday\, December 8\, at 4 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded.\nThere will be coaching feedback sessions on Wednesday\, October 30 from 4-5:30 p.m. and Wednesday\, November 13 from 4-5:30 p.m. and a mandatory dress rehearsal on Wednesday\, December 4 at 4 p.m.\nAn application\, waiver form and a complete list of rules available on our website (www.safe-harbors.org).\nApplications are also available for pickup at the Cornerstone Residence Security Desk at 111 Broadway\, 24/7. Only acts that have auditioned and been chosen by the panel of judges will be eligible to compete in the final show.\nThe Ritz Kidz “Newburgh’s Got Talent” Talent Show is open to the public and tickets are $5 each. Emerging and established choreographers interested in presenting work in an intimate venue in the thriving artistic community in Newburgh are welcome to apply. \nSafe Harbors Lobby of the Ritz performance space seats approximately 60 people. The dimensions of the performance area are approximately 24′ wide x 24′ deep with seating on all sides. The performance is low-tech and somewhat informal. \nEnsemble dance works no longer than 10 minutes long will be considered\, solos works no longer than 8 minutes. If your work is longer than our time limits\, please edit your video to show how the work will be adjusted to fall within the constraints. Work that is over time will not be considered. \nCompleted work will be given priority over works-in-progress or proposed work. We will consider work that is only available for one of the evenings\, but priority acceptance is given to artists that are able to show work on both/either programs. Be sure to indicate your availability on the application. \nSmall Plates creates a growth environment by holding guided Q&A feedback sessions with the audience after each performance. All performers and choreographers are expected to remain on-site to participate in the Q&A. Local dance and artistic professionals are encouraged to attend as audience members and bring their voices to this conversation\, and to provide choreographers with valuable feedback and networking opportunities. This artist/audience interface is what makes Small Plates truly special. \nPlease submit your video by uploading it to YouTube\, Vimeo or another video service online\, and include the link in your application. Do not email your video to Small Plates. Applications without a video link will not be considered. \nAn application fee of $25.00 per piece is required.
