The Newburgh Illuminated Festival drew in many food trucks to Newburgh thanks to a lot of hard work. My Lucky Noodle Food Truck was one of the food trucks present and they loved Newburgh! Now they will have a home in the city at Atlas Industries, 11 Spring Street. Hours will be 11:00am to 3:00pm. They are two Culinary Institute of America chefs, and one teaches Southeast Asian cuisine. Such a treat for Newburgh!
Atlas Industries is the perfect spot, as their studio spaces are filling up with new artists, manufacturers, and more. All of those workers get hungry. Check out the menu below.

William Street is rough, really rough. Rough like most of the buildings on this block are vacant, burned out, or on the brink of collapse. It also happens to be one of my most favorite blocks. It is characterized by smaller buildings that often have commercial shops on the first floor (although many have been converted) and living quarters upstairs. It’s the perfect set up for small business owners, studios, and other endeavors. Newburgh’s large mansions are great, but William Street has the character of a small European town with its original red brick roads.
It’s a lot of imagination, but it’s what this area originally was, and what it has the potential to be. That said, I often get emails about people looking for garages and other fun spaces. This listing is for the garage only and it is a commercial space. The house to the right is for sale, and is probably a gut job. It looks like the owner is trying to sell them together, possibly with other properties. You could create a live/work set up here.
This is the kind of space for someone wanting to make change, not be where change has already happened. See it in person to see if you are up for this level of urban pioneering.

This is a house that was on the market a few years back. Someone bought it, painted it and probably made some repairs. It’s being listed as a 2 family house, although it would probably do much better as a 1 family owner-occupied home (not to mention parking). Overall, this house is on Henry Avenue where many young families and young adults are moving in and fixing homes. It would be a great addition to see this home build up on the work being done, like the makeover of the Wedding Cake House just a few door down. A young couple right across the street are doing a bunch of renovations. It’s a simple Victorian that could really shine one day. Historic tax credits would be available.

A tipster sent in these images of the original façade of the old Lillian’s Family Diner, located at the corner of S. Robinson and Dickson Street that was recently revealed. It is pretty impressive to see that this existed underneath all that brick work, and that all the ornamental (steel?) is still intact. The tipster said the owner is planning to restore, and I certainly hope so. City records say the property was built c. 1940. It’s wonderful to see the progression of development in the city through its architecture.
The future of this property could surely help improve Newburgh’s image, as it is located on one of the gateway entry streets into the city.
