Create Your Own Mobcap or Tricorn @ WHQ
November 23, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free – $4
Knitted caps, woolen berets and furry hoods are often worn during cold winter days. At Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site, in Newburgh, you are invited to make your own topper – 18th century-style – during Thanksgiving weekend, Friday, November 23rd and Saturday, November 24th, 11 AM until 3 PM. Since many tricorn hats and mobcaps were worn here during the last days of the Revolutionary War, when General and Mrs. Washington headquartered at Mrs. Hasbrouck’s farmhouse, it is appropriate they can still be seen here. Create a tricorn or mobcap and strut your own stylish chapeau during a tour of the historic headquarters and see our award-winning Museum exhibit “Unpacked & Rediscovered: Selections from Washington’s Headquarters’ Collection.”
The take-home craft is free with Museum admission.
