ABOUT SPEAKER
Sean Brennan-Founder/Executive Director
Sean Brennan is a third-generation restaurateur, Sean began his career as a host in his family’s restaurant at the tender age of…three, and has performed virtually every role in a restaurant imaginable–from dishwasher to server to all forms of front-of house management. In the late 90’s Sean created MSB Creative Restaurant Consulting taking on an occasional client, while continuing to manage both dinning room and kitchen operations for many successful restaurant and hotel brands. In September 2008 Sean made the decision to start consulting full time. He has dedicated his life to his passion for amazing food and gracious service. In 2010 after being diagnosed with clinical depression and later re-diagnosed with bipolar, he made the decision to alter the course of his life by incorporating his earlier two passions into developing his idea for a non-profit called Brain Food Garden Project. It is his hope that BFGP will start a relevant dialogue on how the role of food effects psychological health. He takes classes with Farm School NYC. And in October 2016 graduated from The Howie T. Harp Advocacy Center earning his NYS certification to become a Mental Health Peer Advocate. While working toward his goals to make Brain Food Garden Project a completely peer operated non profit organization. Sean works as a Program Peer Specialist for ACMH a New York mental health housing program. He is currently putting his gardening knowledge to use facilitating a gardening group for residents at one of the agencies apartment buildings.
