Grand Celebration: Through Different Lenses

July 2, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Sunday, July 2nd is a Grand Celebration at Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site. It’s our 167th Birthday. Independence Day not only represents the birth of our country, but it is also when Washington’s Headquarters was opened as the first publicly owned historic site in the nation in 1850.

In honor of our Grand Celebration we are offering a special event: “Through Different Lenses: Views From Two Centuries.” The program includes a talk and tour of the historic house using stereoscopic views to visually transport you back in time to the early days at the site, because the rooms didn’t always look like they do today. This special tour is being offered at 12 PM and 3 PM and is $5 per person. Reservations are suggested since space is limited.

While you are there, drop in and make your own whirligig to use in your July 4th celebrations!

For further information, call (845) 562-1195.

PLEASE NOTE: Independence Day will be celebrated on July 2nd. Washington’s Headquarters will be CLOSED on July 4th.
