One of the best-known photographers in the region, Richard Hirschman returns to the Karpeles Museum after a highly praised exhibition of his work in 2006. His powerful images represent a wide range of subject matter, including natural landscapes, human and animal figures, and dramatic urban images, often incorporating poignant emotional subtexts in his composition.
Mr. Hirschman’s work has been presented extensively in the Hudson Valley and beyond, receiving exhibitions in numerous venues in Ellenville, Pine Bush, Liberty, and Newburgh as well as in Greenwich Village in New York City. He is a graduate of New York University and the Germain School of Photography.
The Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum is located at 94 Broadway, across from City Hall
in the City of Newburgh. The Karpeles Museums are a national chain with twelve in the U.S., specializing in the preservation and display of original, historically significant documents and manuscripts.
Museum Hours: Thursday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 12 to 4 p.m.
