The Passive House Alliance US is a professional organization has the mission of making this rigorous standard the leading force in the built environment.  This will be achieved through building professional collaboration, green job training, and working with policy makers.  As the Hudson Valley chapter, PHA-HV is enthusiastic to bring this focus to Newburgh for a lot of reasons: building a local workforce trained in the special skills needed for PH construction regionally, future-proof skills for a currently disadvantaged population; creating housing that is affordable and truly sustainable; and because of the central location Newburgh offers.

We will have representatives from NYSERDA there talking about funding opportunities, and PHA-HV may be applying for research grants through them to help build educational programs and public policy shifts.  We will also have 30 to 40 professionals convening in our space at Space Create from around the region to discuss how we can bring about real change that is vital to meet greenhouse gas emissions, build resiliency, and drive down operating costs for building owners.
