Psychologically illuminating art by Toni Quest

Thursday, April 2 – Sunday, May 31, 2015

The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception at the museum on Saturday, April 18 , from 1 to 4 p.m.

A versatile painter, sculptor, poet, and educator who employs her creative gifts to explore both outer form and inner significance, Ms. Quest holds a BFA in communication arts and a masters degree in adult education. She was named a leading new artist by the Westchester Arts Council, and selected to display her work in the Young Emerging Artists exhibition, in 2006. That year her award-winning painting “U.S in US” was licensed for the cover of the book View from the Middle of the Road, Vol. II, U.S. in Us, an anthology of African-American poets including a selection of her own work, and her poetry is also featured in the third volume of the series, Quest of Knowledge. She was interviewed on her art and her poetry on Internet Voices Radio in 2007.

In 2008 she hosted her own talk show, and the next year was called on to moderate a panel discussion in New York City on the synergy of science, spirituality, and the arts. This event led to a speaking engagement at Columbia University, where she moderated a discussion on environmental issues for the Global Foundation for Environmental Management (GLOFEM). She currently hosts the weekly cable program “Talk with TQ,” where she interviews people from all walks of life.

Through her art and her poetry, Ms. Quest defines her goal as “to provoke thought and inspire communication about our relationships with others and the world around us.”
