Safe Harbors Hosts Informational Tours
November 14, 2013 @ 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Safe Harbors of the Hudson, a large scale redevelopment project in the City of Newburgh that combines housing and the arts, will be hosting monthly informational tours. The next scheduled tour will be held on Thursday, November 14, at 4 p.m.
Safe Harbors, whose mission is transforming lives and building communities through housing and the arts, purchased the old Hotel Newburgh in 2002 and turned the blighted eyesore into the Cornerstone Residence. Named Supportive Housing Network of New York’s “Residence of the Year” in 2007, the Cornerstone is home to 128 adults including the formerly homeless, veterans, those living with mental health diagnoses, artist and low income working adults in need of affordable housing. The project also includes the Safe Harbors of the Hudson Ann Street Gallery, a contemporary arts venue, and the Lobby at the Ritz, live performing arts space.
The tours highlight how Safe Harbors’ transformative supportive housing, award-winning contemporary art gallery and performing arts theater is instrumental to the revitalization of downtown Newburgh. All attendees will be entered in a drawing to win free tickets to an upcoming concert at the Lobby at the Ritz!
Tours last approximately an hour and are held monthly on a rotating basis, the second Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by the second Thursday at 4 p.m.
