Steel Plant Creative is a contemporary arts collective of painters, designers, writers, and sculptors based out of the Steel Plant Studios at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. They work together to provide each other with support, creativity, and ingenuity. Our goal is to spread awareness of our art while also giving back to our local community.

The group has already had great successes. Together, they had a gallery opening called Small Works at Art Centro in Poughkeepsie where they sold more than half of the artwork shown. They also have three more gallery openings set up within the next few months.

At their upcoming show Raw Reflections at Global Recycling, Inc. in Newburgh, New York the artists will all create a photo self-portrait using recycled materials. All of the photographs will be uniform – the same size and in the same frame. However, each picture will represent the artist’s personality. Along with the photos, artist biographies will be included in order for the public to understand more about each individual.
