rehabilitation of traditional commercial building stock
fostering small business development
expanding affordable housing opportunities with accessible upper-floor units
local-level community renewal programs
preserving significant or historic buildings
attracting new investment for adaptive reuse
bringing vacant commercial space into code compliance so that it can be occupied.

The funding is intended to help homeowners address health and safety concerns and promote energy efficient options. The sessions are sponsored by the City of Newburgh CDBG program and the Newburgh Free Library.

Are you someone that would like to share your talents with children in the school system? Arts in Orange will be holding a free information workshop for NYSCA grants. These grants are intended to take artists from within the community and integrate them into the school districts to collaborate with the schools traditional curriculum, for a more creative learning environment for students grades k-12.
The workshop will take place at:
6pm on Wednesday, September 29 at the Arts in Orange officelocated at the Quimby & Smith Shop, 91 Main St Pine Bush, NY.
These grants are available for Orange, Sullivan, Putnum & Westchester counties. Copies of the Application & Guidelines are available. The grants are due October 29, for projects during 2011.
