18 Underhill Place Newburgh NY

I have been meaning to photograph this house as a Rescue Me property for a while, but I am glad to see that it has come on the market officially. This house is located on a very narrow and small street right across the street from a little cemetery. It’s also just south of Colonial Terraces. This is a large 3-family home with a garage that sits on a slope. Three units might be a bit much for this block, but that is only the beginning. This property has been vacant for years, and is in need of a gut renovation. Hopefully someone is willing to save it.

220 Gidney Ave Newburgh NY

Here’s a Cape that might be an old listing, so best to check if it’s still on the market. It’s located just past 9W, very close to Downing Park. If you are in need of a handicap accessible home, the ramp is already there for you. If not, I’m sure it can be easily removed to suit your taste. There aren’t too many interior photos but with this crazy winter we are having, that fireplace is looking pretty cozy.

104 Dupont Ave Newburgh NY

This is a nice and simple home west of 9W. The exterior photos are quite small, but inside we get a good look. All of the rooms look nicely updated and cared for, yet still retaining some character. It’s not too clear from the photos but there is also a 2-car garage and a decent sized lawn. From looking at Google Maps, it looks like the house gets good sun, a factor some don’t consider when buying a home.

17 Richman Ave Newburgh NY

This is a cute bungalow just west of 9W close to the Colonial Terraces neighborhood. There isn’t a whole lot that can be said about the home because of the lack of photos. No kitchen or bathroom photos usually means there is work to be done. But this are feels more like suburbia than a city. Perhaps a nice compromise if you are interested in being in the City of Newburgh but still want a driveway and a larger front lawn.

354 1st St Newburgh NY

These quirky old buildings are some of the best in Newburgh. This one is located just one block west of 9W in front of St. Patrick’s Cemetery that can be seen from Broadway. There is practically no detailed information available other than it is zoned for commercial use, although it’s probably residential on the upper floors. Property records do not have the original year built, but have the effective year of 1965 (the last year major work was done). This building reminds me of some of the older buildings down in the financial district in Manhattan with the dormers, cornice and pointed roof. No doubt it’s a building that needs major repair but they don’t make ’em like this anymore.

74 Grove St Newburgh NY

Here’s a property west of 9W just off of Broadway that is in foreclosure. Many houses on this street have this similar triangle detail above the windows and doors. This same detail is carried on inside the home as well. The street is pretty narrow and many homeowners have paved over their front garden spaces, but there is an elementary school on this street and you are walking distance to Broadway. No surprise that it is being marketed as its current use as a 2 unit home. Be prepared, this home needs a lot of work.
