86 Beacon St Newburgh NY

This house has been on the market for a while, and now is back with a reduced price. If you like the idea of living in the Heights neighborhood, but perhaps not in a rowhome, this might be a nice compromise. While the house is small, there is a proper driveway and garage for those of you that want a more suburban touch to your home. The listing also mentions the low taxes, and although the price of the house is attractive there are no photos of the kitchen so be prepared. For more details see below.

45 Henry Ave Newburgh NY

This mega mansion at the corner of Henry and Liberty is for sale. Of course, for the home to survive all these years, the home has been divided into 6 apartments. The bathrooms and kitchens are modern, but would probably need updating if you were going to use them for yourself. The other rooms have amazing details like fireplaces and hardwood floors. The semi-circle corner rooms of the home are amazing, just the kind of detail an old home lover is looking for. And if you don’t love pink fireplaces get ready to start stripping paint.

20 Liberty St WH Newburgh NY

Some numbers on Liberty Street repeat themselves. The WH in this address stands for Washington Heights. This is a 2 family home that is pretty up to date and has a driveway, a real commodity in the city. Some historical details were removed or altered, but there are still plenty of updates a history buff could make like: restoring the porch, restoring double entry way, strip pocket doors etc. Overall, a really nice home next to other nicely maintained homes that leads right through the Liberty Street corridor.

213 Overlook Pl Newburgh NY

This is a two family home for sale in the Heights Neighborhood. The home looks pretty solid apart from the ice dam on the roof. There is a lot of wood detailing and paneling, which should not be too complicated to remove if your interior decor taste differs. This is at the west end of Overlook Place. Keep in mind the taxes might reflect the two family zoning.

2 Courtney Ave Newburgh NY

This is a million dollar house with million dollar views, it just doesn’t look like it-yet. Bay View Terrace borders the east side of the property and has some of the most amazing uninterrupted Hudson River views Newburgh has to offer. To survive Newburgh’s decline the home has been split up into 6 different rental units from what we can tell. But now there is a chance to bring this grand Victorian Lady back. There are next to no interior photos available, but there seems to be original details left to be restored like the entry staircase painted over in a dark gray.

Slowly but surely many homes on or near the bluff are starting to be rehabilitated. Hopefully this one will join the ranks. We’ll be watching closely to see if anyone buys it.
