Here’s another house that needs rescuing. I don’t recall the street I took this photo on, it might have been Dubois. It looks like it is a 2 family residence, and you can tell that a porch was removed. There’s a sign on the building for Primo Contracting. I’m not sure if they are going to work on the building, or just advertising themselves. But, a restored porch, cleaned brick, and a few planters would make a worlds difference to the exterior. You might even be able to find pictures at the library to find out what the building originally looked like.
Newburgh is New York State’s second largest historic district after NYC. Newburgh literally has hundreds of dilapidated and abandoned buildings just begging for someone to come scoop them up and restore them. I’ll continue to post my own photos, but if you have a particular building you would like to see saved, email me the photo of any building you appreciate that you would like to see rescued!
