Rescue Me

Abandoned Newburgh HomesThis photo was taken on Carson Ave. This home was featured on the Abandoned Newburgh Real Estate post I did a while back. This home may be beyond repair however, there are lots of great stories of Newburgh homeowners buying homes exactly like this one, restoring them to their former glory. The city of Newburgh probably still owns this property. You can click on the aforementioned post to find out how to go about purchasing a city owned property.

Restored home that shows Newburgh's potential

Newburgh is New York State’s second largest historic district after NYC. Newburgh literally has hundreds of dilapidated and abandoned buildings just begging for someone to come scoop them up and restore them.I’ll continue to post my own photos, but if you have a particular building you would like to see saved, email me the photo of any building you appreciate that you would like to see rescued. You never know who you might inspire!

  • I always loved this house as a little girl growing up right across the street from it. It looked like a life sized doll house! It’s to bad that it’s so far gone 🙁

  • Yes it does look like a doll house! I love the little windows on the 3rd floor!
