This abandoned home is located near St. Luke’s Hospital, over on Dubois. There are some great details on this home, and it looks like maintenance has been done. So why is it still empty? Anybody have an idea?
Newburgh is New York State’s second largest historic district after NYC. Newburgh literally has hundreds of dilapidated and abandoned buildings just begging for someone to come scoop them up and restore them. I’ll continue to post my own photos, but if you have a particular building you would like to see saved, email me the photo of any building you appreciate that you would like to see rescued!
This was one of the properties HOGAR re-did.

I would say it remains empty because the neighborhood doesn’t feel so safe and the neighbors don’t necessarily give off the best vibes… It is a beautiful home, though, and perhaps if some of the other run down or abandoned properties on this short corridor were purchased, renovated and taken care of – that could change the neighborhood. It’s so close to the hospital, it’s so close to this possibility. Initially, it’s going to take some guts.
