So sad for Newburgh tonight and the two lives that were lost during today’s tornado. Most have no electricity and no cell phone service in the city. This is just some of the damage on Liberty Street where the roofs came off two buildings. The city is in a state of emergency.

Has it been confirmed as a definitely tornado?
as of noon on Wednesday there is NO confirmation by NWS of a tornado. Teams are investigating.

NWS METEOROLOGISTS SURVEYED STORM DAMAGE NEAR NEWBURGH IN
ORANGE COUNTY NEW YORK…
As of Wed Evening:
“The National Weather Service office in New York NY has completed
a preliminary survey for the area near Newburgh in Orange County
New York. The survey is in relation to the severe thunderstorms
that moved through the area on May 15 2018.
It has been determined that an EF0 tornado with estimated peak
winds of 85 mph moved through a path of 674 yards in Newburgh,
New York.”

+1000000 ‘Just walking through the Mount Campus while a convoy of 3 dozen plus utility vehicles, pole augers and buckets from Asplundh and Green Mountain Power were pulling in. Thanks to them and C.H., as well as the Mount for putting them up I assume.
