City of Newburgh Issues Two New RFP’s for Parcels with River Views

The City of Newburgh has issued two RFP’s seeking to sell and develop vacant lots. Both contain parcels with waterfront views. Qualified and interested vendors shall submit their quotations by mail or in person to the City of Newburgh no later than 4:00 PM (local time) Friday, August 02, 2019.

The goal is to encourage a projects that builds upon and complements the recent growth in the City of Newburgh, while maximizing the development potential of the site through new construction. Project proposal should maximize the highest and best use of the site, with appropriate commercial, residential or mixed-uses. Projects without a substantial construction component, such as surface parking or similar, will not be considered.

RFP# 20.19 – 15 South Colden Street An excellent location for development that would continue to foster the growth and attraction of the burgeoning Liberty Street corridor. It is walking distance to the Newburgh Brewery, waterfront restaurants, and SUNY Orange Community College to name a few.

RFP# 19.19140 & 146 Montgomery Street, and 137 Smith Street– Located right off of South Street, just one block up from Water Street. Urban renewal demolished the single family homes that once existed here. This would be an excellent opportunity for new construction that is already inline with the residential nature of this neighborhood. Review the RFP for the potential tax credits that would be available for these development of these parcels.
